Thank you for your lessons. I have learned much from these exercises and wanted to let you know what while I was examining the cards I had a thought (that came in through the window as it were).
I’ve realized that it does not matter if one deck has different symbols from another because your intuitive powers or whatever you want to call the energy of discernment uses what are on your cards to communicate with you so long as you are totally aware of what the cards have on them.
To me this means that we don’t have to learn all the meanings of the Rider-Waite off by heart to be able to read.

What I’ve read makes things fall into place in Readings. I’ve felt like I was missing something, the big picture. I’m going to keep using this method.
I wanted to let you know that I have read your book, which I discovered to by a series of synchronicities. I Never had a an interest in Tarot or divination. But after reading your book, which I am following by the letter, I am discovering how profound the cards can be. I am picking one randomly every day like you suggest analyzing and meditating with them and writing the story etc.
Not only do I feel that is a great way to develop creativity and intuition, but I feel they are mirrors into my soul, but they also amazingly provide a teaching.
I am not at the level of doing readings yet, at the moment I am more interested in the self discovery aspect of them (I am not in a rush) and going one by one.
I am glad I took your advice in not reading your stories of the cards. (I do read them after I did my story.).
One thing I am also doing with the cards is to take the posture of the main character as I meditate on them (I don’t know if any one has ever come up with this method or not) but I feel is what really gets the best results for me.

I ordered your Tarot Reading Using Story Telling Techniques last night and all I can say is “where has this book been all my life?” I am fifty and was intrigued by tarot cards since I was a teenager…but could never figure out how to read with them.
I have bought books (I could furnish a Tarot Library) and decks and was alway discouraged and disappointed because I never seemed to be able to figure out what to say – how to tie the cards together.
I would give up and years would pass but that itch, that deep yearning to somehow use those amazingly mystical cards would rear its head every now and again. I would try more books..different decks… And again, frustration.
Three months ago…yet again, I decided to give it another try. This time I promised myself I wouldn’t give up. I would at least learn make an effort to learn as much as I could about each card. I would persevere. Still, that old nemesis, not knowing how to put the cards together hung over my head, making me doubt if even this time I could figure it out.
Then, maybe as a result of my diligence for the last few months of tarot study, maybe an angelic hand guided me, or maybe I was just the luckiest girl EVER… I found your site and your book!
I am just reading about how to break down a spread… AMAZING. I feel like something has just clicked, the “Hope” button was just pushed, and I am full speed ahead towards achieving my dream of actually being able to use and read my cards!
