Getting a Tarot Card Reading done usually involves asking a lot of questions to the Tarot card reader. If you want the cards to answer your questions correctly and properly, you need to know how to frame the questions for your Tarot card Reading.

Let’s have a look at some very simple things that you need to keep in mind while you frame your questions.

Questions form the basic steps of starting a Tarot Card Reading. They are where the process really begins.

Types of Questions and How to Frame Them for your Tarot Card Reading

Questions are endless. If you look at it, there is no end to the amount of questions that you might want answers for. From the simplest questions to the more obscure and deep ones, there is no dearth of questions that we seek answers for.

However, unless you know how to frame your questions correctly, it is likely that you might get answers that might confuse you, or worse, not really provide you with the answers that you seek.

Let’s begin with the basic questions that often come up in readings and how you can frame those questions in a way that you can get the most benefit from your Tarot Card Reading.

Yes / No Questions:

These are the questions that get asked the most. Examples include:

  • Will I get the job or not?
  • Will I get the promotion?
  • Does he want to ask me out at all?
  • Will we ever get married?

Naturally, the answer to these questions is either a “Yes” or a “No”.

Framing these questions is the simplest, actually. All you need to do is put it in the most unambiguous format. Let’s look at the questions from before, and see if we can make them even more straightforward.

  • Will I get the job at XYZ Company?
  • Will I get the promotion this year?
  • Will he ask me out?
  • Will we get married?

If you compare, we didn’t really do much, except remove all the ambiguity from the questions, or give them a time frame wherever relevant.

That brings us to the next type of question that is usually asked in a Tarot Card Reading.

“When?” Questions:

whenquestions.pngThese are the second most asked questions after the “Yes / No” questions. Clients usually want to know when a certain type of event or situation in their life will occur. Examples include:

  • When will I get my dream job?
  • When will I get my promotion?
  • When will he ask me out?
  • When will we get married?

Wanting to know the answers to these questions is pretty natural. However, in my experience with cards, I have come to realize that if you add a bit of a time frame within these “When?” questions, then the cards can give you a more accurate answer. For instance, it would make a lot of sense if you ask the questions like this:

  • Will I get my dream job within the next 3 years?
  • Will I get my promotion this year?
  • Will he ask me out? / Will he ask me out within the next 3 months?
  • Will we get married? / Will we get married this year?

Adding a time frame now gives the cards a definite limit within which to look, and often converts the “When?” questions into a “Yes / No” question, which is simpler to answer.

Choosing Between Options Questions:

What is life if not a choice between different options? We are often faced with making choices – from the simplest to the complex – throughout our life. The cards can guide you to make those choices as well.

For instance, while searching for a job, let’s say you get offers from 3 different companies. Which one would you choose?

Ideally, you would naturally choose that organization where you will be able to fulfill either your short-term or long-term career goals – whatever type of goal has precedence at the time you are going in for the reading.

It is essential to know what the main objective is while you make your choice. After that, it is a simple matter of working that into the question you ask the cards.

So, in this instance, we can ask the question:

  • “Will I be able to achieve my short-term / long-term career goals if I join XYZ Inc.?” – for each of the 3 organizations that you’ve received a job offer from.

Alternatively, we can also ask the following question:

  • “How will things work out for my short-term / long-term career goals over the next 5 years if I join XYZ Inc.?” – for each of the 3 organziations that you’ve received a job offer from.

Naturally, with the first way, it would become a simple “Yes / No” Question, while in the second way, it becomes a lot more in-depth and a “Looking at the Future” question.

Looking at the Future Questions:

These are pretty much most of the questions you would ask the cards, really. One can say that this is the broadest question type that you can ask.

However, if you use the guidance from the previous questions, you might be able to frame questions such as:

  • How does my financial situation look like over the next 1 year?
  • How will my love life pan out over the next 6 months?
  • How does my married life / relationship look like over the next 3 months?
  • How does my (new) job situation look like over the next year?

“How Can I … ?” / “What can I do to … ?” Questions:

These are the best questions you can ask the cards, but sadly, the least frequently asked questions.

I keep saying all the time: The cards offer the best guidance on how to chart your path towards your chosen goal. The “How can I … ?” question can guide you towards attaining your chosen dream or goal. You can even add in a time frame if you like. Although that part’s not always important in this type of question.

For instance, you could ask questions like:

  • How can I / What can I do to get my dream job (within the next 3 years)?
  • How can I / What can I do to get the promotion (within the next year)?
  • How can I / What can I do to find my one true love (within the next 2 years)?
  • How can I / What can I do to make my married life a trusting and happy environment?
  • How can I / What can I do to complete all the projects I take on?
  • How can I / What can I do to find / discover / understand the purpose of my life?

“What is he / she thinking?” Questions:

This is also one of the most frequently asked questions during a reading – especially when the questions involve romantic situations. Clients usually want to know what their significant other is thinking or feeling.

In all honesty, the Tarot cards might be able to show you a glimpse of what is going on within the other person’s heart or mind. However, I personally feel that these sort of questions invade the privacy of the other person. And so, for ethical reasons, I do not accept these questions.

We can, however, find a way to look at the crux or core question in some other way.

For instance, if you are keen on finding out what another person is thinking / feeling / doing just so you can find out if they are, say, romantically inclined towards you, you can ask a question like:

  • Will he / she ask me out on a date?

Because having feelings for / liking someone, and actually asking that person out on a date are two separate things.

Let’s look at another example. Let’s say you and your boss don’t get along so well, and the annual appraisal is coming up and you want to know if he / she is going to look at your work kindly enough, and give you good points on your appraisal. Instead of asking the cards what your boss thinks about you, you can ask something like:

  • Will I get good points on my annual appraisal?
  • How can I / What can I do to ensure that I get good points on my annual appraisal?

In this way, you can avoid invading the privacy of another person, and still get answers to your burning questions.
