I haven’t really much experience with using Oracle and Advice Card Decks. So when I got the ‘Ask The Queens Advice Card Deck’, I was very enthusiastic for trying it out.

For the past few months, I have been patiently trying this deck. I have consulted it when I have gone through the typical ups-and-downs and have received some interesting answers from this deck.

Let me tell you more about my experience with this very intriguing deck.

The ‘Ask The Queens Advice Card Deck’ is adapted from the ‘Doomed Queens: Royal Women Who Met Bad Ends, From Cleopatra to Princess Di’ deck. Both these decks have been created by Kris Waldherr. And if you are interested in a quick and interesting online reading from the Queens in the deck I am reviewing today, you can visit www.AskTheQueens.com and have some fun!

The Cards

Ask The Queens Advice Card BackThe ‘Ask The Queens Advice Card Deck’ is definitely not your standard Tarot card deck by any means. This deck contains 40 different cards. Each of these cards has a picture of a Queen and a speech bubble with her advice. Right below it is a little excerpt about that Queen’s life (and eventual demise).

The advice in the speech bubble is pretty much the advice that that particular Queen would give you – and if you read her history, you’ll get what I mean.

The cards are about 6.5 inches wide and 8.5 inches long. So they are a bit larger than your standard Tarot cards. It takes some effort to shuffle ‘em, but it’s not that hard either. The card stock is also pretty strong – I guess these Queens are survivors… 🙂

Ask The Queens Advice Card Deck Instructions

The ‘Ask The Queens Advice Card Deck’doesn’t come with a Little White Book. However, there is one card that has instructions on how to use this deck. The usage is pretty simple: shuffle the deck, form your question and choose your card.

Reading With the Ask The Queens Advice Card Deck

As I said before, I tried these cards out in a variety of situations. Primarily, because I had to wrap my head around the idea of using non-Tarot, Advice cards … so there wasn’t much I could do with the imagery and symbolism part of my knowledge here.

What I did do was look up the history of each of the Queens that came up for me on the Internet, and I ended up learning something new.

So yeah, these cards aren’t Tarot cards – but they can give some pretty interesting advice. Most times, the advice was downright un-decipherable at first glance – but as I pondered upon it, things started to make sense. But then there were times when the advice was pretty spot-on.

I realized that readings from the ‘Ask The Queens Advice Card Deck’ made more sense in situations where you are making long-term plans and looking at things from a very macro perspective. However, if you are seeking advice for some minor, every-day matter, then the advice will probably make sense to you if you really bend your mind and think about it for quite a while.

I guess, because these are Queens – and doomed Queens at that – so their advice would make sense on the broad-based view point rather than your every-day issues.

Empress Elisabeth

On a personal note, it’s funny that I got this card three times, in 3 separate readings – and each time I was asking about some career moves that I was planning to make in the long run. The card gives me a sense of inevitable-ness of Destiny. Seriously… its wacky alright! 🙂

The Cards I Liked

Since this deck doesn’t really have much in terms of symbolism and imagery and such things, the cards that I liked from the ‘Ask The Queens Advice Card Deck’ have been chosen based on their very interesting advice, or the very interesting history of the Queen.
